Speech Language Pathologist Requirements & Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited institution
- Seeking completion of a clinical fellowship and ability to obtain SLP licensure upon employment
- Ability to independently organize, manage, and prioritize a clinical caseload
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Computer proficiency with Outlook, MS Office, Google Docs, and database management
- Ability to lift and move children up to 40 pounds via stairs
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Experience or interest in early intervention (birth to 3 years)
- Comfortable providing services in home and community settings
Speech Language Pathologist Responsibilities
- Deliver speech therapy services in home and community environments to infants and toddlers
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support holistic care
- Assess clients using a variety of tools and advise on environmental adaptations
- Provide direct therapy (individual or group), consultation, monitoring, and written program plans
- Maintain client confidentiality and complete documentation according to organizational and state protocols
