VP of Merchandising & Procurement Benefits and Compensation:

• $160,000 to $170,000 base salary

VP of Merchandising & Procurement Requirements & Qualifications – this is what will be prioritized:

• 7+ years of experience in merchandising, procurement, category management, or strategic buying

• Proven success leading purchasing operations across multiple channels and revenue streams

• Experience managing decentralized buying teams, field buyers, or regional sourcing operations

• Strong negotiation skills with distributors, vendors, and large inventory suppliers

• Ability to balance opportunistic purchasing with inventory forecasting and margin discipline

• Experience scaling procurement operations in a fast-growth environment

• Must be highly analytical while also capable of making fast, strategic buying decisions in dynamic markets

• Comfortable operating as both a strategic leader and hands-on operator

Must Haves:

• Experience sourcing and purchasing high-volume inventory

• Strong understanding of pricing strategy, margin management, and inventory flow

• Ability to build buying playbooks, systems, and operational standards

• Experience developing and coaching procurement or merchandising teams

• Strong executive presence with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Lead purchasing strategy across multiple product categories and proprietary product lines

• Oversee buying efforts across retail, ecommerce, event-based, and direct sourcing channels

• Identify and execute on opportunistic inventory acquisitions nationwide

• Build relationships with distributors, vendors, and strategic supply partners

• Create scalable procurement systems and category management strategies for national growth

• Partner closely with inventory planning leadership to align purchasing decisions with demand forecasting

• Establish pricing discipline, buying standards, and accountability measures across all buying teams

• Analyze category performance, inventory trends, and market opportunities to drive revenue growth and profitability

• Help shape the long-term merchandising vision for a rapidly growing organization

VP of Merchandising & Procurement Preferred Background & Skills

• Background in retail, consumer products, ecommerce, or enthusiast-driven industries

• Experience with live commerce, proprietary product strategies, or high-volume inventory environments

• Strong understanding of market trends, pricing strategy, and inventory valuation

• Experience building procurement operations during periods of rapid expansion

• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a high-growth environment

• Experience presenting strategic initiatives and operational plans to executive leadership

• Ability to develop 30/60/90-day operational strategies and scalable procurement frameworks
