Financial Controller Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, including at least 2–3 years in a Controller or senior finance role.
- Experience managing financial operations across multiple entities; international (US/UK) experience strongly preferred. 25% Travel
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing or operational setting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
Financial Controller Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience in manufacturing, automation, or life sciences industries.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Financial Controller Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations for US and UK entities, including general ledger, AP/AR, inventory, and cost accounting.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
- Lead budget development, rolling forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making.
- Administer ERP system usage and maintain data governance standards across entities.
- Establish and enforce strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and UK regulations.
- Mentor and support finance staff while collaborating closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate remote financial operations and reporting with teams in multiple time zones.
