Sales Engineer Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage relationships with manufacturing customers across your assigned territory
- Identify customer production challenges and recommend CNC machining and automation solutions
- Sell a range of equipment including CNC mills, lathes, and integrated automation systems
- Conduct on-site visits to evaluate processes, workflows, and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with applications engineers to create tailored technical solutions
- Prepare and present proposals, including ROI and productivity improvements
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close and follow-up
- Maintain consistent communication with customers to support long-term partnerships
Sales Engineer Requirements & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machine tools, manufacturing, or industrial sales
- Strong understanding of machining processes (milling, turning, or automation preferred)
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineers and business stakeholders
- Proven track record of developing new business and managing accounts
- Comfortable working in a field-based, customer-facing role
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within territory
Must Haves:
- Experience selling or supporting CNC equipment or manufacturing solutions
- Ability to assess a customer’s production process and identify improvement opportunities
- Confidence in running meetings, demos, and technical discussions independently
- Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
Preferred Background & Skills:
- Experience with multi-axis machining, Swiss turning, or automation systems
- Exposure to industries such as automotive, aerospace, or medical manufacturing
- Prior experience in a distributor or OEM environment
- Familiarity with ROI-based or consultative sales approaches
