Position Summary:
Seeking a reliable, experienced, and nurturing Opener – Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position is responsible for opening the center each day, preparing classrooms for learning, and leading a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open the center daily and ensure classrooms are prepared, clean, and safe for children’s arrival
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with state guidelines
- Supervise and manage classroom activities while maintaining a structured and nurturing environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment at all times
- Monitor children’s behavior and development, addressing individual needs appropriately
Required Qualifications:
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (required)
- Active OCCRRA (Ohio Child Care Resource & Referral Association) account in good standing
- High School Diploma or GED required (Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting (lead teacher experience preferred)
- Knowledge of Ohio childcare licensing rules and Step Up To Quality standards

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, punctual, and able to consistently open the center on time
- Passion for working with children and supporting their development
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening in accordance with state regulations
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of required OCCRRA trainings and ongoing professional development
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, stand, and actively engage with children throughout the day
Work Schedule:
- Early morning shift (Opener position; exact hours to be discussed)
- Full-time or part-time availability
