The Childcare Sanitation Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment within childcare centers. This role offers flexible scheduling with the option to service one or multiple childcare center locations based on availability and preference. This role ensures all classrooms, common areas, and high-touch surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, kitchens, play areas, and common spaces daily
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces including toys, desks, tables, chairs, door handles, and learning materials
- Follow strict health and sanitation guidelines appropriate for infants, toddlers, and school-age children
- Use child-safe, non-toxic cleaning products in compliance with childcare regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of infant areas, including cribs, changing stations, and feeding spaces
- Launder and sanitize linens, bedding, and soft materials as needed
- Empty trash, replace liners, and ensure proper waste disposal procedures
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and hygiene materials
- Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and sanitation emergencies
- Support infection control practices to minimize the spread of germs and illnesses
- Maintain organized storage of cleaning supplies and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently upheld throughout the day
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of sanitation practices and infection control standards
- Background in custodial services within environments requiring high health and safety standards (hospitality, F&B, education, commercial, residential cleaning)
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform cleaning duties
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Valid DL
