Business Development Manager Benefits & Compensation
- Base salary range is $100K – $125K, with uncapped commissions (2.0% on new gross profit, 1.0% on renewals), and $150,000–$185,000 OTE by Year 2.
- Ramp guarantee: Variable compensation floor of $2,000/month for first 6 months as pipeline develops
- Signing bonus up to $10,000 available for lost commissions (with standard repayment terms)
- Participation in an employee equity pool with a standard vesting schedule
- Monthly auto allowance ($650) or IRS mileage reimbursement; all travel and entertainment expenses covered

Business Development Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- 7+ years of B2B sales experience in electrical equipment, electrical distribution, or related industrial areas (switchgear, panels, transformers, UPS, controls, enclosures, etc.)
- 15+ active electrical contractor relationships in the Southeast, with ability to bring these to the pipeline (under NDA)
- Proven results selling into data center, critical infrastructure, or large-scale industrial construction projects
- History of achieving or exceeding quota for 3+ consecutive years
- Ability to read electrical one-lines, panel schedules, and specifications; comfortable leading scoping calls independently
- Proficiency managing a CRM pipeline (30+ active opportunities), ideally with HubSpot, Salesforce, or Dynamics
- Free and clear of non-compete, non-solicit, or confidentiality barriers to soliciting former clients in the territory
Business Development Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience with a UL-certified panel shop, switchgear manufacturer, or electrical distributor focused on the Southeast data center corridor
- Active contacts with contractors serving top hyperscalers (e.g., Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Meta) in Georgia, the Carolinas, or Virginia
- Prior experience at an OEM competitor, with insight into industry pricing and lead-time standards
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in both channel (rep/distributor) and direct sales models
Business Development Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Build and manage a robust revenue pipeline from initial contact through closed orders across Georgia and the broader Southeast
- Cultivate lasting relationships with key decision-makers at electrical contractor firms
- Deliver consultative sales presentations focused on speed, quality, and the company’s differentiated value
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure fast, accurate quoting and technical responses
- Maintain disciplined CRM records and participate in weekly pipeline reviews with leadership
- Gather and share market intelligence on pricing, lead times, and competitive activity
- Represent the company at local and national trade events; develop secondary channels with EPCs and general contractors
