Asbestos Project Manager & Estimator

A growing and well-established environmental and specialty construction organization is seeking an experienced Asbestos Project Manager & Estimator to join its team.
This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of projects—from preconstruction through closeout—while contributing to estimating and operational success. The ideal candidate brings both field leadership experience and strong estimating capabilities within asbestos abatement or related services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage asbestos abatement, demolition support, and environmental remediation projects from kickoff through completion
- Review project scopes, specifications, drawings, contracts, and environmental reports
- Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and documentation
- Track production, job costs, billing progress, and change orders
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Support estimating and preconstruction efforts, including takeoffs, pricing, and proposal development
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify conditions, and support field execution
- Maintain strong communication with clients, inspectors, and internal teams
- Drive projects to completion safely, on schedule, and within budget
Required Qualifications
- Experience managing asbestos abatement, environmental remediation, demolition, or specialty construction projects
- Experience with estimating, takeoffs, bid review, or scope development
- Strong understanding of asbestos compliance and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and environmental reports
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and budgets simultaneously
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AHERA projects and work in occupied or phased environments
- Familiarity with asbestos documentation, notifications, and regulatory coordination
- Experience working alongside industrial hygiene and air monitoring professionals
- Relevant asbestos certifications or ability to obtain
- OSHA 30 and/or 40-hour HAZWOPER
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Work Environment
- Combination of office and active jobsite work
- Ability to navigate construction environments and controlled work areas
- Use of PPE and respiratory protection when required
- Occasional lifting and schedule flexibility based on project demands
