A well-established manufacturer of fluid handling and filtration equipment is seeking an experienced Centrifugal Pump Design Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a hands-on role focused on designing and optimizing pump products for a range of applications including industrial processes, agricultural irrigation, dewatering, and marine systems.
What You'll Do
• Design and optimize centrifugal pump hydraulics (impellers, diffusers, and volute casings) for efficiency and performance
• Perform mechanical design of rotating and stationary components with a focus on structural integrity and service life
• Use SolidWorks and CFD tools to model pump performance and simulate flow conditions
• Build and test prototypes; analyze results and iterate on design
• Investigate field or test issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support new product development and production transition
What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years of hands-on centrifugal pump design experience
• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, hydraulic principles, cavitation, and NPSH
• Proficiency in SolidWorks; CFD simulation experience a strong plus
• Experience designing impellers, volutes, shafts, seals, bearings, and housings
• Familiarity with plastic injection molding is a bonus
