Clinical Coordinator / Instructor Requirements & Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher (must match or exceed degree level conferred to graduates)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field
- Valid, current credentials specific to the sonography concentration(s) being coordinated
- Documented experience in clinical supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and educational theories/techniques (through coursework, seminars, or in-service)
- Ability to travel to clinical sites as needed and work some evening/weekend hours
Clinical Coordinator / Instructor Preferred Background & Skills
- Proficiency with clinical management systems such as Trajecsys and learning management platforms (Moodle/LMS)
- Superior communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Creative and adaptable teaching methods to reach diverse learners
- Strong problem-solving skills and independent work ethic
- Experience managing multiple clinical sites and student schedules
Clinical Coordinator / Instructor Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Coordinate clinical education with didactic curriculum to ensure effective student learning
- Evaluate and maintain relationships with clinical sites, including regular site visits and communication
- Provide clinical instruction and evaluate student progression toward clinical competence
- Schedule and coordinate student clinical rotations, maintaining accurate documentation of competencies, hours, and evaluations
- Serve as the primary liaison between the program and clinical site personnel
- Advise and support students regarding academics, professionalism, and clinical performance
- Participate in curriculum meetings, accreditation processes, and professional development activities
