Project Architect Requirements & Qualifications
- Registered Architect (required)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Minimum 15 years of experience with construction documentation on large-scale projects ($30M–$150M)
- Strong technical knowledge across civil, structural, MEP, and low-voltage systems
- Proficiency with Revit (required); familiarity with Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, SpecsIntact, and MS Office
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) projects and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) preferred
- Ability to travel 20–30% as needed
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass required background checks
Project Architect Preferred Background & Skills
- NCARB certification
- Experience with SpecsIntact and federal project delivery
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
Project Architect Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate multi-discipline project teams throughout all phases
- Develop schematic layouts, preliminary designs, and detailed drawings
- Oversee and review construction documentation and construction administration tasks
- Participate in design reviews with clients and federal agencies, ensuring code compliance
- Serve as the main client contact for major projects and manage client relationships
- Write and edit architectural specifications, supporting QA/QC and technical review efforts
- Collaborate with consultants on project changes, RFIs, and addenda
