Location: Waukesha County, Wisconsin
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | No Formal On-Call

Position Overview
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in leading the clinical team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care in a skilled nursing setting.
This role goes beyond traditional ADON responsibilities- offering the opportunity to take ownership of infection prevention, staff development, and clinical operations, while helping maintain a safe, home-like environment for residents.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the Director of Nursing to oversee daily clinical operations
- Serve as the Infection Preventionist, leading infection control initiatives and compliance
- Drive staff education and development, including onboarding and ongoing training
- Support survey readiness, audits, and regulatory compliance (CMS, OBRA, state guidelines)
- Mentor and guide nursing staff to promote a culture of accountability and excellence
- Contribute to Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Foster a collaborative, resident-focused environment across departments
This ADON MUST HAVE
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- 3+ years of experience in skilled nursing or long-term care
- Proven leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, or similar)
- Strong understanding of survey readiness, regulatory compliance, and quality measures
- Infection Prevention experience or willingness to obtain certification
- A hands-on, adaptable leader who takes initiative and ownership
