Paralegal – Trust and Estates Requirements & Qualifications
- 4+ years of paralegal experience, ideally in estate planning, trust administration, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of estate planning processes, trust structures, and relevant tax considerations.
- Demonstrated experience drafting complex estate planning documents.
- Proficiency with legal software such as Clio, HotDocs, or related systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a client-first approach.
Paralegal – Trust and Estates Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience supporting high-net-worth or complex client matters.
- Prior training or oversight of junior paralegals.
- Ability to coordinate with attorneys, financial advisors, and accountants.
Paralegal – Trust and Estates Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Draft and review sophisticated estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, partnerships, and foundations.
- Support attorneys in developing and executing advanced estate planning strategies.
- Conduct research on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws to inform recommendations.
- Serve as a client-facing point of contact, providing updates and addressing questions.
- Maintain and organize detailed case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate execution and proper filing of estate planning documents.
- Support trust funding and estate administration processes, including asset transfers and beneficiary coordination.
