A globally recognized law firm is seeking a senior-level insurance coverage attorney with extensive experience handling complex coverage disputes. This role is ideal for a highly motivated, independent attorney who thrives in a leadership capacity and has deep experience advising insurers on sophisticated litigation matters, including bad faith and business interruption claims. Candidates must be admitted in Texas.
Senior Attorney Responsibilities:
- Analyze first- and third-party insurance policies and provide strategic coverage advice to insurer clients
- Lead and support litigation in federal and state courts, including declaratory judgment actions and policyholder disputes
- Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and mediation statements
- Manage communications with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and courts
- Oversee discovery processes, including drafting requests, managing productions, and reviewing large document sets
- Conduct and defend depositions, participate in hearings and mediations, and manage expert involvement
Senior Attorney Requirements:
- Admission to the Texas bar with 10+ years of relevant insurance coverage experience
- Strong background in insurance coverage litigation (bad faith and business interruption experience preferred)
- Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills
- Proven ability to independently manage cases and take on leadership responsibilities
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel as needed
