National Field Sales Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- 5+ years of B2B2C field sales leadership, including direct people management (performance reviews, coaching, accountability)
- Strong proficiency with Salesforce or equivalent CRM for reporting, team management, and disciplined follow-up
- Demonstrated analytical skills—able to translate team trends and activity into actionable improvements
- Excellent communication and coaching abilities
- Operational rigor and commitment to process standards
- Experience designing and implementing territory processes and performance programs
- Financial services or point-of-sale finance background
- Must live within 30 minutes of a major metro airport
National Field Sales Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience overseeing geographically distributed teams
- Ability to identify and challenge ineffective processes based on data and outcomes
National Field Sales Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and performance-manage a team of 10–15 field sales reps, setting expectations and conducting regular 1:1 and team reviews
- Build, document, and continuously refine the field sales playbook for prospecting, merchant onboarding, activation, and territory management
- Analyze merchant performance data, identify trends, and implement action plans to drive retention, growth, and productivity
- Conduct regular ride-alongs and field observations to ensure the quality of execution and effective coaching
- Oversee weekly territory planning with each rep, focusing on high-impact activity and outcome-driven merchant visits
- Enforce rigorous CRM discipline, ensuring team accountability for notes, follow-ups, and documentation
- Collaborate across internal teams to improve tools, processes, and territory coverage in response to evolving market conditions
