A nationally recognized engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer PE to support complex building system projects in Colorado Springs. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio including laboratories, healthcare facilities, manufacturing environments, higher education campuses, and commercial developments, while contributing throughout the full project lifecycle from concept through construction and post-occupancy.
Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical system design from initial concept through construction administration and post-occupancy evaluation
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget
- Conduct site visits, field assessments, and evaluations of existing electrical systems and infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with applicable building, electrical, and energy codes, including NFPA and other industry standards
- Develop and document designs within a BIM (Revit) environment and utilize related engineering software tools
- Perform detailed engineering calculations and prepare construction documentation
- Review the work of junior engineers, providing mentorship and identifying development opportunitie
- Support project coordination efforts, ensuring alignment with client goals and project requirements
Electrical Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design within a consulting or design-build environment
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, building codes, energy codes, and NFPA standards
- Proficiency with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM PTW, or similar tools
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients
- Demonstrated project management capabilities and strong analytical/problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset and interest in mentoring junior engineers
