You’ll be hands-on with equipment, troubleshooting under pressure, and supporting everything from breakdowns to new system startups. Controls Engineer Requirements & Qualifications:
- PLC Programming: Allen-Bradley (required)
- Strong hands-on PLC troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working directly with automated equipment in production
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring logic
- Experience supporting drives (ABB, Allen-Bradley, Indramat, or similar)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-noise production environment
Must haves:
- Troubleshoot live production issues on presses, robotics, and automated systems without slowing down decision-making
- Support transfer presses, servo systems, and automated leak testing equipment
- Jump into equipment breakdowns and drive root cause resolution
- Commission and support new automation installs and capital equipment startups
- Partner closely with Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering to improve uptime, OEE, and scrap reduction
- Standardize controls across equipment and improve system reliability
Controls Engineer Preferred Background & Skills:
- Siemens PLC experience
- Robotics integration experience, especially welding cells or material handling
- Background in stamping, heavy manufacturing, or high-speed production
- Experience with transfer presses or leak testing systems
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Inventor
- Ability to lead projects or mentor maintenance technicians as experience grows
