Sous Chef – Confidential Client (Charlotte, NC)

We are partnering with a modern, chef-driven hospitality concept in Charlotte to hire a Sous Chef who can support daily kitchen operations, lead line execution, and ensure consistent, high-quality food in a fast-paced environment. This role works closely with the Executive Chef and is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, growth-minded culinary leader.
About the Role
The Sous Chef will:
• Lead and support daily BOH operations
• Execute a seasonal, scratch-made menu with consistency and attention to detail
• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and speed
• Run service, manage expo, and assist the Executive Chef in all kitchen leadership duties
• Train, coach, and develop BOH staff
• Assist with inventory, ordering, waste control, and cost awareness
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment
Requirements
• Recent (last 5 years) experience in an upscale casual or fine dining restaurant
• High-volume experience of at least $4M in annual revenue
• Minimum 3 years of kitchen leadership (Sous Chef or strong Lead Line Cook ready for next step)
• Experience in a scratch kitchen environment
• Strong line execution and ability to run shifts independently
• Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
Preferred:
• Experience with ordering, inventory, or cost control
• Background in R&D, specials, or seasonal menu development
