A dynamic upscale restaurant in Austin is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help lead a high-energy operation with a strong food, beverage, and events focus. Assistant General Manager” Requirements & Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of management experience in upscale hospitality venue driven environments
- Stable employment history
- Strongly preferred, blended experience in independent and corporate environments
- Thrives in innovative, world class service driven environments
- Strong knowledge of the Austin food and beverage landscape
- Proven ability to lead teams, hold standards, and create a positive, accountable work environment
- Experience with labor management, COGS, payroll oversight, and operational budgeting
- Highly proficient with reservation systems and booking platforms
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
- Ability to support hiring, employee reviews, training, and SOP development
- Experience managing floor service, running pre-shift, and ensuring the restaurant is set correctly each day
- Ability to bridge communication between hourly staff and senior leadership
- Experience reviewing and communicating BEOs and supporting smooth coordination between FOH and BOH
- Ability to support private events, internal activations, and guest tours when needed
- Experience overseeing or assisting with beverage operations and vendor relationships
- Ability to manage operational systems such as Toast, Asana, and related platforms
- Comfortable handling repairs, maintenance coordination, permit compliance, and day-to-day operational follow-through
- Ability to proactively handle staff relations and HR matters, including conflict resolution and policy guidance
- Willingness to use AI tools to improve reporting, analytics, productivity, and operational efficiency
Assistant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills:
- Background in an upscale, hospitality-driven restaurant environment
- Experience in a venue with multiple bars, private dining, and event-driven revenue
- Strong partnership style with both culinary and front-of-house teams
- Confidence supporting both guest-facing service and behind-the-scenes operations
- Organized, hands-on leadership style with strong follow-through
- Comfortable in a creative, fast-paced environment where service standards and culture both matte
