Construction Project Manager (Commercial / Design-Build)
Location: Norfolk, VA (on-site)
About the Role
We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of project execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
This position supports fast-paced, design-build construction projects, including work within secure and regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of construction projects from planning through completion
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, contracts, and regulations
- Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates
- Identify risks and implement proactive solutions
- Drive project execution to meet deadlines and financial targets
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of commercial project management experience
- 6+ years of experience as a Project Engineer and/or Assistant Project Manager in construction
- Experience working on ground-up or large-scale commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and cost control
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in design-build construction environments
- Familiarity with tools such as Primavera P6, BIM, or Revit
- OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
- CPR/First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- LEED certification (or interest in sustainable building practices)
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work on-site and travel as needed
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass background screening
- Ability to obtain clearance for work on secure job sites
