Electrical Engineer II Requirements & Qualifications – this is what will be prioritized:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in industrial automation or electrical systems
- Strong experience developing PLC programs from the ground up using IEC61131-3 languages
- Structured Text
- Ladder Logic
- Function Block Diagram
- Experience working with industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)
- Familiarity with electrical CAD software and schematic development
- Solid understanding of electrical codes and safety standards (NEC, NFPA, UL, CSA, etc.)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and perform root cause analysis
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and update PLC programs and electrical schematics as systems evolve
- Support integration of machine automation, electrical systems, and interfaces
- Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues, implementing timely solutions
- Provide technical support to production teams, service teams, and external customers
- Ensure all systems meet applicable regulatory and safety standards
- Manage multiple engineering priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Electrical Engineer II Preferred Background & Skills:
- Experience with multiple PLC platforms (Yaskawa preferred, plus Omron, Mitsubishi, IDEC, etc.)
- Familiarity with motion control programming and PLCopen standards
- HMI design and layout experience (Yaskawa, Red Lion, Maple Systems, etc.)
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production support environment
- Exposure to ERP systems and database interaction
- Experience with electrical testing (ground bond, hipot, etc.)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
