Technical Advisor Requirements & Qualifications
- Technology background in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or chemical engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professionalism working with demanding clients
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Able to collaborate and thrive within a team environment
- USPTO admission preferred
- Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
Technical Advisor Preferred Background & Skills
- Interest in hardware and devices, software, database technology, artificial intelligence, wireless, and/or image or signal processing
Technical Advisor Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Review invention disclosure documents and conduct invention disclosure meetings
- Conduct prior art searches, review references, and analyze patentability
- Draft patent applications
- Review USPTO office actions, develop response strategies, conduct examiner interviews, and draft and file responses
- Manage U.S. and foreign dockets
- Analyze patents as part of due diligence and freedom to operate analyses
