Dermatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

A growing dermatology practice serving rural communities in North Carolina is seeking Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants with experience in medical dermatology. Providers will join a collaborative clinical team focused on delivering high quality dermatologic care and building long term patient relationships in communities where specialty access is limited.
This position focuses on evidence based dermatology, patient education, and continuity of care while working closely with supervising physicians.

Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluations and full body skin exams
Diagnose and treat common dermatologic conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, fungal infections, and rashes
Identify and manage precancerous and cancerous lesions including actinic keratosis, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma
Perform dermatologic procedures including shave biopsies, punch biopsies, excisional biopsies, cryotherapy, and lesion removal
Provide wound care and post procedure follow up
Review dermatopathology results and diagnostic testing
Develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
Prescribe medications and therapies within scope of practice
Educate patients on skin health, prevention, and disease management
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
Follow clinical, regulatory, and HIPAA standards
Qualifications
Required
Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Active North Carolina NP or PA license
National certification AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA
Minimum one year of dermatology experience
Strong diagnostic and procedural skills
Ability to work independently in a clinical environment
Preferred
Dermatology certification such as DCNP or willingness to pursue certification
Experience performing dermatologic procedures including biopsies, cryotherapy, and lesion removal
Familiarity with dermatoscopy and electronic medical record systems
Interest in serving rural communities and expanding access to dermatology care
