Senior Project Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- 15+ years of construction experience in heavy civil, water/sewage, treatment plants, and pipelines
- Proven experience as a project manager for a contractor
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Competent Person training
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and work in active construction environments
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
Senior Project Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience interacting with OSHA representatives
- Experience mentoring and supporting project management staff
Senior Project Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site representative and primary contact for all project stakeholders
- Lead and coordinate field engineering activities to achieve safety, schedule, and budget targets
- Enforce safety policies and compliance with all OSHA requirements; document meetings, inspections, and trainings
- Oversee pre-construction setup, including review of project files, drawings, specs, and contract documentation
- Prepare and manage project schedules, submittals, testing plans, and change orders
- Develop site logistics plans and coordinate subcontractor, material, and labor activities
- Support closeout activities such as punch lists, walkthroughs, and documentation
- Provide team leadership, support hiring and coaching, and promote a positive, accountable work environment
