Head Brewer Responsibilities

  • Supervises all activity in the brewhouse and cellar; coordinates and schedules all production activities
  • Lead new product development with reformulation and innovative techniques to create new and exciting flavor experiences.
  • Experience with THC beverages
  • Manage and plan brew schedule, document and regularly communicate the schedule to the leadership team and staff
  • Coordinate purchasing and inspection of raw material ingredients
  • Author new and edit existing SOPs. Manage brewing logs and beer record-keeping files.
  • Maintain brewing areas to ensure compliance with company quality, sanitation, and safety standards
  • Maintain inventory supply of malt, hops, yeast, and other brewery supplies to keep up with production

Head Brewer Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional brewing experience in a similar role. Formal brewing education is a big plus
  • Possess basic mechanical skills, and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
  • Planning and scheduling of production to meet new product launch objectives.
  • Budgeting and ability to set priorities to work within well-defined financial targets and guidelines.
  • Strong customer orientation. Ability to communicate with customers regarding their recipes and ingredients. Passion for people and beer.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-starting, and resourceful.
