About the Role
The Sous Chef will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day culinary operations, ensuring flawless execution of service, consistency of dishes, and adherence to the restaurant’s elevated standards. This position requires a strong technician with exceptional organization, attention to detail, and a passion for mentorship.
You will work closely with the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine to uphold the restaurant’s Michelin-level excellence while contributing creativity, discipline, and leadership to the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee kitchen operations during service, ensuring culinary excellence and consistency.
- Train, supervise, and mentor line cooks, prep cooks, and culinary staff in technique, station management, and Michelin-level standards.
- Assist in menu development, recipe testing, and maintaining the restaurant’s culinary identity.
- Uphold rigorous standards for cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
- Maintain pars, order product, and manage inventory to support efficient and cost-aware operations.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on systems, scheduling, and workflow improvements.
- Ensure flawless communication between BOH and FOH teams to maintain smooth service flow.
- Support tasting menus, special events, and seasonal menu transitions as needed.
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of experience in fine dining, Michelin, or other highly accredited kitchens (James Beard, AAA Five Diamond, World’s 50 Best, etc.).
- Strong culinary fundamentals with exceptional knife skills and technical proficiency.
- Leadership experience—ability to inspire, coach, and elevate junior chefs.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, inventory, ordering, and sanitation standards.
- Passion for excellence, discipline, and continuous improvement.
