Requirements & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
  • 4+ years of prior security experience required
  • 1+ years of hotel security experience preferred
  • 1+ years of campus security experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance
  • Ability to commute to Minneapolis, MN 55447 (required)
  • Must possess a smartphone to access reporting and scheduling apps
  • Willing to participate in pre-employment screening (drug test, federal background check, fingerprinting); may take 2–4 weeks
  • Available for weekends, holidays, and flexible scheduling
  • Comfortable working on-call/as needed due to unpredictable callouts
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred (training provided within 90 days if not certified)
  • Ability to meet physical requirements: walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, clear communication, and report writing

Must Haves (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)

  • Fill open posts across various client sites based on business needs
  • Perform routine foot and vehicle patrols of designated areas
  • Respond to incidents and complete accurate, timely reports
  • Support employees, customers, and visitors with professional, friendly assistance
  • Maintain visibility and uphold safety protocols to ensure a secure environment
  • Adapt quickly to schedule changes and different site environments
  • Learn and utilize the company’s guard management/reporting app for all shift activity

Preferred Background & Skills

  • Prior experience in hotel, campus, or corporate security environments
  • Strong customer service skills (2+ years preferred)
  • Proven ability to stay calm under pressure and diffuse challenging situations
  • Strong communication, situational awareness, and decision-making abilities
  • Experience rotating across multiple property types
  • Interest in career advancement, specialized certifications, or leadership opportunities
