Property Accounting Manager – New York City

Property Accounting Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a comptroller or full-time bookkeeper in New York City residential rental properties.
- Expertise in Yardi and Excel accounting software.
- Strong accounting, file management, and computer skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with the CEO, executive staff, CPAs, and lawyers.
Property Accounting Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Familiarity with managing both regulated and deregulated apartment buildings.
- Experience with corporate accounting functions, including A/R and A/P management.
- Knowledge of DHCR regulations and property registration processes.
Property Accounting Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of corporate bookkeeping for 400 apartments, including free market, rent stabilized, and rent controlled units, as well as office, retail, and medical spaces.
- Manage corporate accounting functions such as check deposits, invoices, security deposits, and cash management.
- Ensure monthly reconciliation of accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Register regulated apartments with the DHCR and file annual property registrations.
- Oversee employee payroll through ADP, union payments, and employee benefits.
- Interface with banks and collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
