Legal Manager Requirements & Qualifications

J.D. and licensed (or eligible) in New York.
7+ years legal experience, ideally including restaurant/QSR, hospitality, or multi-unit operations.
Strong understanding of labor law, food safety regulation, commercial contracts, and corporate governance.
Experience providing legal guidance to business leadership.

Legal Manager Preferred Background & Skills

Restaurant/QSR or hospitality legal experience.
Experience with CA labor law and marketing/advertising compliance.
Prior experience in a growth-stage or fast-moving company.

Legal Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Implement compliance programs involving food safety, DOH, OSHA, ADA, wage & hour, and local labor laws.
Maintain compliance systems in NY and future expansion states.
Draft and negotiate supplier, vendor, technology, construction, and operational agreements.
Review and negotiate leases, amendments, and LOIs for new openings.
Oversee trademark filings, IP protection, and brand usage guidelines.
Coordinate responses to customer complaints, incidents, and employment disputes.
Provide legal support for future franchising strategy and FDD development.
