Restaurant Chef – San Diego, CA

Join a prestigious institution as a Restaurant Chef, where you will lead culinary operations and create exceptional dining experiences for students and staff.

Restaurant Chef Requirements & Qualifications:

Degree in Culinary Arts or a Bachelor's degree in institutional management, nutrition, dietetics, hotel and restaurant management, or a related field
Serve Safe Certification
Four (4) years of progressive culinary supervisory experience
Four (4) years of experience in ordering food and supplies
Working knowledge of restaurant financial reporting
Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
Strong leadership and oral/written communication skills
Experience with computerized menu management systems and knowledge of office and industry software applications
Ability to work flexible hours
Proven problem-solving ability
Commitment to high-quality food procurement, production, and services

Restaurant Chef Preferred Background & Skills:

Experience in a similar role within an educational or institutional setting
Familiarity with menu development tailored to customer tastes and nutritional needs
Ability to train, coordinate, and evaluate production staff effectively
Knowledge of strategic planning for food preparation in non-kitchen venues
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
