Are you a seasoned legal expert with a passion for large-scale infrastructure and EPC contracts? Our client is a leading player in the construction industry—renowned for tackling complex, high-value projects across California—and they are looking for an In-House General Counsel to join their executive team.
If you’ve navigated the legal complexities of EPC, PPP, and design-build projects and want to play a strategic role in shaping major infrastructure developments, this is your opportunity.
💼 What You'll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of high-stakes agreements, including EPC, public-private partnership, design-build, and joint venture contracts.
- Ensure compliance with contract standards such as FIDIC, AIA, and NEC.
- Manage legal aspects of subcontractor and vendor agreements, change orders, and dispute resolution.
- Advise on regulatory compliance (zoning, environmental, labor laws), licensing, and permitting.
- Oversee claims management, construction litigation, and collaboration with external counsel.
- Serve as a strategic legal advisor to executive leadership and project teams.
- Deliver training and guidance on contract management to internal stakeholders.
- Represent the company in legal dealings with agencies, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
🎯 Who You Are
- A licensed California attorney (J.D. required) with active bar membership.
- 5–10+ years of experience in construction or infrastructure law, ideally in-house or at a firm supporting large-scale commercial and public works projects.
- Expert in EPC, PPP, and design-build legal frameworks.
- Confident navigating claims, change orders, risk assessment, and multi-stakeholder negotiations.
- Comfortable advising on public procurement, bonding, indemnity, and compliance issues.
- A proactive problem-solver with business acumen and excellent communication skills.
🎁 What is the Offer
- $200,000 – $250,000 annual base salary
- Bonus + profit sharing
- Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision)
- 401(k) with company match
- Generous PTO + paid holidays
- The chance to be at the legal forefront of some of the most complex, high-impact construction projects in the state
