Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to oversee and optimize operations in China. This role is critical in driving cost efficiency, operational excellence, and alignment with global growth objectives. The ideal candidate will function as a mini CEO/COO for China operations, managing supplier relationships, optimizing supply chain and production processes, and collaborating closely with the global team to support company-wide success.

If candidates are currently located in the United States, they must have experience working directly in China for a long time and have direct experience with the Chinese government/work culture/lay of the land in China. This role requires living in China.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management and Supplier Negotiation:

  • Lead supplier negotiations to reduce costs while maintaining quality and reliability.
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure cost efficiency supports profitability.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee and optimize supply chain, logistics, and production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational performance
  • Management by KPIs

Collaborative Business Leadership:

  • Align China operations with global business goals, ensuring operational efficiency supports growth and market expansion.
  • Explore and propose strategic opportunities for operational improvements or value-added contributions.

Strategic Vision and Alignment:

  • Collaborate with global leadership to ensure operational strategies align with growth objectives.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning with insights and recommendations.

Leadership and Team Building:

  • Recruit, inspire, and lead a high-performing operations team.
  • Foster a proactive, results-driven culture that emphasizes accountability and innovation.

Performance Metrics:

  • Deliver measurable cost reductions and efficiency gains.
  • Support faster time-to-market and ensure high product quality standards.
  • Contribute to overall company growth through operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 10-15 years in operations management, supply chain, or a related field, preferably within manufacturing or consumer goods in the Chinese domestic market.
    • Must have start-up / entrepreneurial experience
    • Must have graduated from a 985 or 201 University in China with a Bachelor's degree
    • Proven track record in cost management, supplier negotiations, and operational optimization.
    • Experience working in a global organization is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to align operational goals with broader business objectives.
    • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
    • Bilingual in English and Chinese; must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English
