We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trailers, including dry van, reefer, flatbed, etc. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trailers to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Diagnose and repair brake systems, suspension components, electrical wiring, lighting, and air systems.
- Weld and fabricate metal components as needed for structural repairs.
- Replace or repair tires, landing gear, and other trailer components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and ensure trailer safety.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Follow company safety policies and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a trailer mechanic or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and braking systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus).
