Staff Accountant – Manufacturing

We are a growing and successful consumer products company looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Grant Park. If you thrive in a high-volume, manual transaction environment and have experience in consumer products (especially selling to big-box retailers), this role could be a great fit. Strong Excel skills and an eye for detail are essential as you'll play a key role in balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.

What You’ll Do:

• Own the Numbers – Review and record balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries with accuracy and oversight.
• Track Revenue – Maintain a patent license revenue tracker to ensure correct revenue accounting.
• Excel Like a Pro – Use advanced Excel skills to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and support financial reporting.
• Close the Books – Lead the monthly close process from start to finish, working alongside the Director of Finance.
• Be the Go-To Accounting Liaison – Work with various departments to answer accounting-related questions, ensure compliance, and streamline financial processes.
• Ensure System Accuracy – Partner with the team to maintain Microsoft Dynamics and True Commerce EDI, keeping automated transactions flowing correctly.

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

1+ years of experience with manual journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in a high-volume setting

Strong Excel skills (comfortable with formulas, data analysis, etc.)

ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics preferred, but similar systems work too)

Excellent communication skills – You’ll be working with multiple departments

Consumer products industry experience preferred (big-box retailer experience is a plus)
