We are seeking a Director of Catering for a luxury hotel in downtown Chicago.
Director of Catering Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Fielding inbound local catering opportunities and proactively prospecting for outbound local catering opportunities via client visits, utilizing prospecting tools such as Knowland and client prospecting lists to solicit new account and local catering opportunities, and occasionally attending hotel-sponsored industry events in order to network with prospective clients
- Managing the sales process for local catering opportunities from opportunity creation through agreement signature
- Creating banquet event orders, planning, and "detailing" events booked by the Director of Catering as preparation for the event taking place
- Collaborating with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage on creating or updating the hotel's catering menu, and food and beverage presentation/design as it relates to events
- Acting as primary liaison to the food and beverage and banquets operations teams in preparation for events booked by the Director of Catering
- Previous experience selling and/or managing local/social catering events in a full-service hotel is preferred.
- Previous experience using CI/TY, creating Banquet Event Orders, and/or working in a luxury hotel setting are preferred.
