Director of Construction

Location: New Orleans, LA

A fast-growing company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Construction to lead and oversee operations for both residential and commercial construction projects. This pivotal role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in construction management, who is looking to bring their expertise to a company that values growth and innovation.

Director of Construction Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage multiple large-scale and medium-sized commercial and residential projects simultaneously
  • Lead and mentor a team of 30–100 employees, ensuring effective collaboration and performance
  • Manage and coordinate multiple subcontractors to deliver high-quality, on-time project results
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and optimize systems to enhance operational efficiency
  • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing challenges proactively to ensure project goals are met
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and quality standards
  • Leverage technology to drive efficiency and improve project outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and team members to ensure alignment and satisfaction

Director of Construction Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in construction management roles within small to medium-sized firms handling both residential and commercial projects
  • Strong background in electrical construction at a commercial level
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (MBA preferred; PMP certification is a plus)
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and teams successfully
  • Experience overseeing and coordinating with numerous subcontractors
  • Familiarity with system and process development to implement and enhance SOPs
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to adopt and utilize construction management technologies
  • Solar experience is a plus but not required
