We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of Construction to lead and oversee all operations of an in-house construction division. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing a wide range of commercial construction projects, supervising teams, and ensuring the successful execution of all initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring extensive project management expertise, team leadership capabilities, and technical knowledge to maintain the high standards and operational excellence of the organization. 

Director of Construction Salary and Benefits:

  • Base salary: $170,000 to $190,000 with performance-based increases.
  • Discretionary profit-sharing bonuses after one year.
  • Health, vision, dental, and life insurance.
  • HSA with up to $1,500 employer match annually.
  • Employees pay $15/month for self, $25/month per dependent.
  • 401(k) with generous employer match.
  • Paid leave, vacation, holidays, and parental leave.

Director of Construction Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all construction operations, including project management, facilities management, and community initiatives. 
  • Lead a team of 25-30 skilled construction workers, including carpenters, electricians, equipment operators, and other trades. 
  • Manage subcontractors and in-house construction crews, ensuring quality and efficiency in all projects. 
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of construction projects, such as housing, operational facilities, storage facilities, irrigation systems, lighting installations, and office spaces. 
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and design teams to ensure project plans are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals. 
  • Oversee the bidding process for projects, manage budgets, and ensure cost control and financial reporting accuracy. 
  • Coordinate project logistics, including ordering materials, scheduling work, and aligning with accounting teams. 
  • Maintain and enhance existing facilities, manage landscaping, handle maintenance needs, and oversee community-focused initiatives. 
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. 

Director of Construction Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sophisticated commercial construction project management with a strong portfolio of substantial projects. 
  • Prior leadership experience managing internal teams and subcontractors in a construction setting. 
  • Expertise in bidding processes, project logistics, and financial oversight. 
  • Familiarity with plan design, including the ability to interpret and work with technical designs. Experience with AutoCAD is a plus. 
  • Hands-on experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and resources effectively. 
  • A background in facilities and grounds management is desirable. 
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills. 
  • Preference for candidates with familiarity or ties to Northern Nevada, though relocation will be considered for exceptional candidates.
