Join the team as an Electrical Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in designing, planning, and implementing overhead and underground transmission and distribution (T&D) systems. With a primary focus on distribution systems, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects ranging from new line installations to system upgrades.

Electrical Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and engineer overhead and underground electrical systems, focusing on distribution projects from 4.16 kV to 34.5 kV.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, material standards, and construction guidelines for T&D projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage capital project scopes, including budgeting, material planning, quality control, and project closeout.
  • Create and update engineering drawings and records for new installations and maintenance work.
  • Provide engineering designs and material specifications for large customer service installations and distributed generation connections.
  • Support ‘Make-Ready’ projects for communication installations and oversee contractors and consultants providing engineering services.
  • Contribute to system restoration and storm response efforts as required.

Electrical Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (BSET degree also acceptable).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Maine preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in utility distribution or transmission engineering systems (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on technical excellence.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Knowledge of T&D systems up to 345 kV, with emphasis on distribution networks.
