We are recruiting a hands-on Controls Engineer for a growing company in the machine and equipment manufacturing sector. Candidates will be extremely detailed individuals with a minimum of 4 years of experience with PLC and HMI programming and design experience.

Controls Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical schematics, PLC logic, and enclosure designs, while staying on budget and timeline, and reporting progress.
  • Estimate engineering hours, create BOM, create checklists, and be responsible for machine manuals and project checking.
  • Inspect work and approve quality assurance and customer compliance, and make sure work has been approved by management.
  • Contribute to process improvement and other duties as assigned by management.

Controls Engineer Requirements:

  • BA in Electrical Engineering or similar with experience
  • 4+ years of PLC programming (Omron, AB, Siemens), HMI programming (Indusoft)
  • Robotic programming knowledge (ABB, Fanuc) preferred and machine tool experience
  • Understand electrical design, schematics, and electrical code regarding machine tool design.
  • Proficient in CAD or SolidWorks, Microsoft Office applications, and ERP (Epicor preferred)
  • Business-minded, flexible thought process, problem-solver, and able to seek guidance when needed.
