We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in the Tampa, FL area. This role is key in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, assisting with tax documentation, and supporting overall financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and ensure financial accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, variance reports, and support budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, process vendor invoices, and track customer payments.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with audits.
- Process employee expenses and monitor trends for cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with the team on financial projects and system improvements.
Staff Accountant Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus).
- 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Fluent in Spanish is a PLUS!
