Your Responsibilities as CNC Programmer and Machinist:

As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization's requirements.

  • Set up and operate CNC Equipment (Lathes & Mills), Manual Equipment (Lathes & Mills) and Drill Presses.
  • Upload and run programs
  • Properly install and remove tooling per the setup sheet
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speeds, feed, coolant flow, and depth of cut
  • Audit first-piece samples (when required)
  • Perform visual and measurement checks to maintain the quality output of parts
  • Make program adjustments or offsets to ensure processes are complete and quality of parts are met and replace inserts or other tools as needed

Requirements for CNC Programmer and Machinist:

  • H.S. diploma/GED required and 2-3 years of CNC mill or lathe experience, including setup.
  • Proficient in the use of measuring tools; micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, optical comparators, thread gauges, etc.
  • Familiarity with Solidworks and Mastercam
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, understand GD & T
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and positive attitudes
