Join our team at a premier children’s sleep away summer camp in CT, where you'll oversee a dynamic kitchen serving approximately 500 campers and 250 staff daily. We're seeking a dedicated Food Service Director to lead our team of 30+ food service staff from May 10 to September 12 (with some flexibility).
Responsibilities:
- Assist Directors with menu planning, leveraging existing plans creatively
- Collaborate on food staff hiring and role assignments
- Manage ordering of food, canteen supplies, cleaning products, and kitchen essentials
- Ensure meals are prepared according to menu specifications and camp standards
- Supervise stock management, temperature monitoring, and adherence to health codes
- Direct kitchen and dining room staff, ensuring high-quality service and cleanliness
- Maintain knowledge of food allergens and prevent cross-contamination
Requirements:
- Proven experience in food service management, preferably in a high-volume environment
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Familiarity with menu planning and culinary creativity
- Knowledge of SafeServ and relevant health codes
- Ability to live on-site and work collaboratively in a camp environment
Benefits:
- Competitive salary: $9,000.00 – $11,000.00 per month (depending on experience)
