We're in search of an experienced Activity/Community Relations Director to join our senior living community team. As Activity Director, you'll be pivotal in maintaining a spirited resident culture. Your expertise in the Activity Director role is crucial in fostering a vibrant and engaging community environment of Section 8 independent senior living, while ensuring residents well-being and their satisfaction.

Activity Director Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive activities program catering to the diverse interests and abilities of senior citizen’s residents.
  • Collaborate with resident activity's committee, resident services staff, and Administrator to identify, plan, and schedule activities and events suitable for our community.
  • Ensure that activities promote physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Organize and oversee a variety of on-site and off-site events, including games, workshops, cultural outings, exercise classes, arts and crafts, and social gatherings.
  • Coordinate transportation and logistics for outings and off-site activities, such as shopping trips, while ensuring resident comfort and safety.
  • Manage the Food bank and the Eating Together program.
  • Attending resident activities committee meeting to gather feedback, preferences, and suggestions for new activities.
  • Manage groups activities digital/Raydiant Board
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive community atmosphere by encouraging resident participation and engagement in activities.

Activity Director Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: bachelor's degree in recreational therapy, hospitality management, gerontology (preferably), or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience in event planning, recreational activities, or a similar role, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, staff, and external contacts.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent planning and organizational skills to manage multiple activities and events efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt activities based on the needs and abilities of residents.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills.
