We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Operations Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and operations, with a knack for optimizing procedures and driving cost-efficiency. This role is critical in ensuring our business operates smoothly and profitably.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth functioning of operations.
  • Prepare and analyze food, beverage, and operational costs on a weekly basis; recommend alternatives to improve costs.
  • Assist in the monthly food and beverage inventory counts and extensions.
  • Establish and maintain a database for food and beverage inventory, including up-to-date pricing.
  • Monitor and analyze vendor agreements and associated costs; review vendor services contracts.
  • Cooperate with General Managers (GMs) to help meet financial goals.
  • Conduct monthly financial meetings with GMs and recap with accounting and leadership for proper reporting of COGS, P&L, etc.
  • Analyze and present information to leadership on SPHL, GPHL, and overall efficiencies with labor scheduling and productivity.
  • Develop and adjust budgets; research opportunities to reduce expenses.
  • Recommend cost-saving measures to upper management and optimize procedures to minimize losses.
  • Visit and monitor restaurants to assess wastage and efficiency.
  • Implement accounting software and automate cost control systems.
  • Develop financial reporting procedures and systems.
  • Calculate the variance between the budgeting plan and actual performance; investigate unprofitable variances and losses.
  • Develop cost-efficient solutions to implement changes.

This role may involve additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in accounting, project management, or related areas is desirable.
  • At least five years of experience in operations, accounting, or a related field, preferably in a large company.
  • Experience with data analytics, financial reporting, and managing audit processes is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
