A growing and dynamic restaurant group is seeking a legal Compliance Manager to join their team. You would report directly to the CLO and be integral to establishing a sound foundation for company growth. Are you a solution-driven and analytical compliance professional? Compliance Manager Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate legal, regulatory, and litigation activities; file appropriate reports with regulatory agencies
  • Provide administrative support to Chief Legal Officer; prepare and organize company minutes & official documentation
  • Monitor ongoing legal matters, prepare responses to third-party subpoenas, and provide assistance to outside counsel and/or external auditors
  • Draft correspondence, documentation of policies & procedures, & research memoranda
  • Special projects, as assigned
  • Monitor & report violations of company policies to CLO
  • Maintain documentation of compliance activities, including complaints & investigations
  • Develop & communicate risk management strategies

Compliance Manager Requirements

  • 3-4 years prior experience as a Compliance Specialist or Manager, Paralegal, or Legal Assistance
  • Thorough knowledge of laws, regulations, & legal codes, executive orders, agency rules, court procedures, & reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of principles of business management regarding strategic planning, resource allocation, HR, and operations
  • Exceptional level of communication, spoken & written
  • Experience in risk management & auditing
  • Expertise in tax software, MS Suite, HRIS, Adobe, & DocuSign
  • Experience in a restaurant or other hospitality-industry organization required
  • Multi-state experience preferred, especially CA and/or NY
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited university, or equivalent work experience
  • Notary public highly preferred
