We are looking for an enthusiastic, quality-driven Sous Chef to open our new Italian trattoria in Washington, DC (one block from the White House!). You will lead a phenomenal team in an upscale, high volume restaurant with an emphasis on outstanding food and service in a sophisticated, yet comfortable environment. Be part of the opening everyone in the city will be talking about!

Sous Chef Qualifications + Responsibilities:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a high volume, upscale, scratch kitchen environment
  • Expertise with Italian cuisine is required
  • Commitment to providing exceptional guest service, and creating memorable experiences for all patrons
  • Expertise in coaching, training, and leading teams
  • Highly skilled and comfortable utilizing technology platforms such as POS, inventory management software, scheduling/employee communication platforms
  • Responsible for effective cost management of food and labor
  • Schedule includes working nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Hands-on management style, comfortable (and happy!) working shoulder to shoulder with their team
  • New Restaurant Opening Experience preferred
