Great opportunity to join a successful team and established group seeking a Banquet Events Director. This is the chance for a driven and energetic person with a hands-on approach to advance to the next level. Our ideal candidate has a deep passion for executing the entire service for large-scale events that leave lasting impressions on every guest. This position is on-site and located in Syracuse, NY

Director of Banquets Requirements & Responsibilities: 

• 5+ years of experience in a similar position in catering venues or hotels
• Hire, train, and coach competent Union banquet staff to ensure friendly and efficient service
• Lead team of 50+ staff, Union experience is a plus
• Responsible for all event services including set up, serving of food and beverage, and breakdown of the event.
• Oversee and manage the full scope of large events with 500+ guests
• Be a leader and a role model to all staff members 
• Ensure department compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and programs 
• Ensure details and proper guidelines for events for a high level of execution 
• Full understanding of BEO's, floor plans, and seating charts
• Passion for Catering & Events, natural leader, and results-oriented
• Excels at communication, both verbal and written 
• Flexible and willing to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays that coincides with events.
• Well-organized, solution-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills 
• Ability to communicate effectively and create excellent relationships with customers 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
