We are seeking an experienced New York State Certified Teacher to join an organization committed to expanding, awakening and enlightening children's minds. This is a full-time 12-month position
Typical hours are Monday to Friday 9:00-4:30
Lead Teacher Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
- New York State Certification required (B-2 or N-6)
- or eligible for study plan
- 3+ years of experience working with children ages 2-5 years of age
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Experience planning Early Childhood classroom activities, knowledge of progressive approaches to Early Childhood education, and experiences with the Creative Curriculum
- Experience with typical and atypical language, cognitive, motor, social, and self-help skills development
- Desire to work with a diverse population of children and families
- Well-versed in DOH/DOE contractual and licensure requirements
- Knowledge of Early Learn, Head Start, DOH Article 47 standards
Lead Teacher Responsibilities:
- Ensure a nurturing, safe, and healthy environment for all children
- Develop engaging activities and lesson plans
- Provide services to all children and families with respect, confidentiality and dignity
- Document the learning and growth that the children experience
- Relate to families in a holistic fashion to address matters such as education, social services, health, nutrition, and family issues
- Ensure parent involvement and/or awareness in program planning
- Supervise and collaborate with Assistant Teacher and Teacher Aide
- Consistently update and maintain children’s progress reports, daily health logs, incident logs, accident reports, lesson plans, and weekly child observation notes, et
