The Production Manager reports to the Plant Manager, ensuring adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) and working on process improvements. They foster team cooperation and communication, ensure compliance with safety regulations, enforce ISO 9001, GMPs, and OSHA procedures, and coordinate with the Director of Maintenance for machine upkeep and efficiency.
Production Manager Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to ensure sound production and maintenance principles across departments.
- Collaborate with EHS Manager on safety system implementation, training, and compliance.
- Analyze and improve performance of production and warehouse departments.
- Identify and implement efficient manufacturing and storage methods.
- Coordinate manpower, facilities, equipment, raw materials, and shipping to meet production goals.
- Ensure legal compliance with production and environmental regulations.
- Develop and administer associate training programs with the EHS Manager.
- Create and adhere to department budgets to maximize operations and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Safeguard plant and property security.
- Develop and discipline subordinates as needed.
- Work with Director of Maintenance to optimize machine performance.
- Identify and coordinate necessary maintenance actions.
Production Manager Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management and/or engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Proficiency in computer use, especially Excel and Word.
- Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with ISO, GMP, and GFSI (Spanish a plus).
