Our client is a private equity-owned manufacturer of quick-ship and customized switchgear founded over 80 years ago. They are primed for aggressive expansion into new and existing markets. We are seeking a dynamic Applications Engineer to support sales growth by developing optimal electrical solutions for end-user applications.

Applications Engineer-Switchgear Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with customers, sales personnel and plant operators to understand end-user application requirements
  • Promptly evaluate customer problems and present technical solutions using your technical expertise to ensure feasibility and efficiency of proposed solutions
  • Generate sales drawings and bills-of materials based on product proposals and designs
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering teams to provide customized solutions that meet customers' needs and to evaluate risk, profit, scope of supply, and overall project schedule
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on projects of a complex nature as needed

Applications Engineer-Switchgear Qualifications:

  • BS Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer or related field with 2 + years of electrical power industry experience or Associate Degree with 4+ years of electrical power industry experience
  • Strong technical expertise in switchboards, switchgear, electrical distribution equipment/electrical and mechanical principles, control wiring, and control schematics; experience with low and medium voltage
  • High proficiency with 3D CAD software
  • Strong problem solver and adept at relationships with internal and external stakeholders
